Located in Tooele, UT, South Valley Services has now merged with Pathways: Domestic Violence Shelter & Survivor Advocacy Center.
Pathways maintains a 24-hour crisis hotline, offering support to victims, their families, and community. We provide emergency shelter for individuals and families escaping domestic or sexual violence. Our facility is staffed around the clock by dedicated professionals and offers a comforting, home-like environment. Comprehensive services and resources are available to help residents heal and work toward achieving independence.
Advocacy and shelter services are confidential and free of charge.
Survivor Advocacy Center
Located at 7 South Main St., Suite 305, Tooele UT, open Monday-Thursday from 8a.m.-5p.m. and Friday by appointment. Services offered are geared towards safety planning, connecting survivors with community resources, and providing ongoing support. Critical services include referrals to mental health resources, employment assistance, and legal advocacy support to guide survivors through criminal and civil legal matters. While not attorneys, our advocates offer crucial support and accompaniment.
Services Offered
24 Hours Crisis Line
Our skilled advocates are available around the clock to respond to calls, offering information, resources, safety planning, and support. They also assist in connecting survivors to advocacy services. For individuals who do not speak English, phone interpretation services are utilized to ensure effective communication and support.
Emergency Shelter
Pathways offers safe, confidential, short-term housing for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at our 12-bed emergency shelter.
Our shelter is for individuals and families experiencing abuse who are at high risk of danger from their abuser and who need to escape into a safe confidential setting. The shelter offers trauma informed comprehensive advocacy and support focused on safety planning, stable housing, and acquiring the necessary resources so that individuals and families can live free of domestic violence. Our advocates and case managers provide confidential life skills and support groups in-house and provide services to help to identify, plan, and facilitate access to resources that meet the needs of survivors and their families.
Community Advocacy
Community advocates are dedicated to assisting you with safety planning, connecting you to community resources, and offering ongoing support. Their services include guidance on mental health referrals, help with job searches, and addressing other individual needs. These resources are available to all survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault. Legal advocates offer valuable information and support for navigating criminal and civil legal matters. While they are not lawyers and cannot provide courtroom representation, they can guide you through legal processes such as obtaining protection orders, handling divorce proceedings, and creating parenting plans.
Additionally, they can connect you with free legal clinics or refer you to low-cost or pro bono attorneys for further assistance.
Community Support Groups
Support Groups are available to the community to help overcome feelings of isolation and create a supportive environment where individuals can openly discuss the effects of domestic violence and sexual assault on themselves, their families, and the broader community. Meetings are held every Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Survivor Advocacy Center. For additional information, please contact our support line at 435-843-1677.
