Blankets of Care

Before her passing, Caitlin chose to spend her final weeks focused on bringing comfort to others.
“Caitlin began the blanket project while on hospice, about a month before her passing. Caitlin had a giving spirit and inner light and wanted to do a project that helped women and families in need,” her family shared.
Caitlin’s family and friends continued the project, aiming to finish 33 blankets for her birthday. They were able to pass that goal, with 63 blankets donated in her memory.
We are deeply honored that Caitlin’s family selected our domestic violence shelter as the recipient of this extraordinary gift. Each blanket carries with it a message of care, compassion and dignity—values that Caitlin embodied throughout her life.
For the survivors and families staying in our shelter, these blankets will offer more than physical warmth. They will serve as a reminder that they are not alone—that people in the community see them, believe in them, and want to support their healing.
Caitlin’s generosity reminds us that even during life’s most challenging moments, there is still space for love, connection, and care. Her legacy is one of selflessness and community—proof that one person’s compassion can continue to touch lives long after they’re gone.
To Caitlin’s family and loved ones: Thank you for sharing her light with us. Her kindness will live on through every life these blankets touch and every moment of comfort they bring.
