Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers make it possible for SVS to serve tens of thousands of survivors of domestic violence each year! As a volunteer, you can help SVS in many ways. For example, volunteers assist with service projects, collect urgently needed items, making a financial donation, or acting as a domestic violence advocate.

Volunteer Opportunities
It takes community support to provide meaningful services to our residents and that’s why we love volunteers. You can be a part of our organization and make a real difference in someone else’s life. There are various volunteer opportunities available. These opportunities are not limited to but can include the following:
- Organizing and sorting donations
- Shelter maintenance
- Deep cleaning of shelter interior
- Picking up and delivering items to the shelter
- Community education and presentations
- Help arrange agency fundraisers
- Office support
- Seasonal activities like yard cleanup, snow removal, raking and bagging leaves, gardening and weeding, and holiday decorating
- Children’s Learning Center activities
- Special celebrations or holidays
- Share talents or hobbies
Intake and office support including checking clients in and out of the shelter, taking hotline calls, and other general office duties.
- Eagle Scout, school, church, or other community projects
- Donation drives for items on our Urgent Needs Lists
- Special activities for holidays
- Classes and activities for residents
- Shelter improvement projects, for example, redecorating a room or other part of the shelter
