Our Services

A shelter is a temporary safe home where you and your family members can stay for a period of time. All shelters are different. Some are big and some are small. At South Valley Services, we have 13 rooms and 57 beds. Each family has their own bedroom with a private bathroom. There are communal areas such as the living room, laundry room, kitchen and playground. The location of our shelter is kept confidential for your protection.

South Valley Services is more than a shelter. We provide supportive, comprehensive services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All services are provided in English and Spanish. Translation services for any language are available 24 hours a day. Our services include:

Confidential help is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Call our hotline for information, resources, referrals or for shelter services 801-255-1095. We are committed to providing you quality service in any language.

Shelter Advocates are available 24 hours a day to ensure the safety and security of the shelter and its residents. Our advocates provide emergency hotline callers with immediate assistance and assist shelter residents with their personal needs.

We provide a Children’s Learning Center 24 hours per week (Monday – Friday). Our center is more than child care. Children engage in a learning environment that is sensitive to their unique situation and needs.

South Valley Services offers weekly support groups and adult classes in English and Spanish including a self-esteem group. Isolation is a major tactic of domestic abuse and many report a sense of relief to know that they are not alone on their journey.

The Children’s Learning Center offers a consistent schedule of music, crafts, dramatic play, exercise, snacks, groups, and reading activities; we are staffed to provide appropriate activities for children of all ages.

Upon checking into our shelter, every resident is assigned to a case manager. They provide intensive support to residents during their stay and help residents as they transition out of the shelter.
