Our keynote speaker is Janine Latus, an award winning journalist, speaker, advocate and international bestselling author.

Janine Latus – author of If I Am Missing or Dead – the story of two sisters who fall victim to angry and controlling partners. One breaks free and thrives; the other is murdered by her live-in boyfriend. Janine survived. Now, she travels the world openly speaking on sexual assault and intimate partner violence to the United States Navy, various universities, shelters,Major League Baseball teams, and corporations as the idea that what happens in the home, stays in the home’ is leading to people being killed. Janine advocates for people to share their stories, which frees and empowers others to tell their stories. Her presentations are part story, part-strategy, based on the Duluth Power and Control Wheel – full of practicality as theory is developed within personal accounts – resonating long after everyone has left the room.
With the generous assistance of Utah’s philanthropic community, we can all take a stand against domestic violence. This impactful event will raise funds to support SVS’ efforts to provide shelter and supportive services to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.
