Financial gifts help to empower survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault to build lives free from violence.
Domestic violence occurs in all communities, within every culture, and among every socio-economic group. Unfortunately, domestic violence is so prevalent in Utah that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men experience it, which exceeds the national average of 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men.
South Valley Services, one of 13 domestic violence services providers covering 29 counties, serves domestic violence survivors within Salt Lake county. Over the past 21 years, we have helped tens of thousands of survivors through life-saving services like emergency shelter, food and clothing, case management, clinical therapy, housing services, and more.
We serve many survivors with the help of limited government funding and private grants, but most importantly, with the support of the community through physical and monetary donations. Unrestricted funding through donations allows us to help more survivors and fill in gaps that other funding sources can’t. Donated funds will enable us to purchase needed items for survivors, fix facility issues, train our staff, and expand our premises over time to serve more survivors. Most importantly, donated funds allow us to empower survivors through the vital services we offer.
